It's Scary Down There.

I'm in the process of cleaning out my storage room. It's filled to the gills. And it's a big storage room- we have 4 levels of shelves that run under almost the whole length of my front porch. Yeah, lots of stuff down there. I'm probably 1/4 of the way done. I've taken one load to the DI, and I have another ready to go. Why do I keep all this stuff?

When it's time, I am a purger. I can throw stuff away. I am most sentimentally attached to things that my kid's made or played with or wore when they were little. Those things stay. Someday my grandkids will appreciate that stuff. Old crafts that I made at Relief Society in 1992? Those can go.

And the garbage! Christmas lights that don't work, old stereo speakers, wrinkled wrapping paper, Halloween decorations from the 80's, all that goes. Here's the growing pile in my garage:
Yes, I am throwing away that old cardboard Halloween coffin that I bought to serve doughnuts out of at some long-forgotten ward party. It's going!

And, yes, that is an old ZCMI bag filled with the old an unloved crap from my storage room. How long has ZCMI been closed? That gives you a glimpse into my basement. It's scary down there.
