Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Here's another Sister Recipe. It's kind of like Hamburger Helper, but SO much better, since it's made from scratch! The recipe says it serves 8, but I'd say more like 12.

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream
1 12oz. package bow tie pasta
2 Tbs. olive oil
1 lb. Italian sausage
1/2 c. diced onion
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 14 oz. cans Italian-style diced tomatoes, drained
1 1/2 c. heavy cream
1/2 tsp. salt

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook pasta in water and drain. Heat oil in a large skillet. Cook sausage, onion and garlic until sausage is browned and onion is tender:Stir in tomatoes, cream and salt.Simmer until mixture thickens, 8-10 minutes.Add pasta and heat through. We put a little shredded Parmesan cheese on top- yummy!
