Grandmother Stratford's Rolling Pin

Happy Thanksgiving! We'll be heading down to my brother's house for dinner in a while. Bruce's Thanksgiving priority is leftovers, so I have a turkey of my own going in the oven right now. Tonight when we get home, there will be a fridge full of yummy leftovers for us to eat. Turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, 7-up salad, rolls, pumpkin and banana cream pie and no vegetables! Speaking of pies, I made those yesterday, using Bruce's grandmother's wooden rolling pin. When we first moved to Ogden, we lived in the old Stratford house on 21st Street. A few of the old kitchen things came with me when we moved on- including the rolling pin. It's stood the test of time, even if the only handle it has is the one you can see in the picture. I figure it's been used by Stratfords to make Thanksgiving pies since maybe the 1930s. I love that family connection.
