It's a 4 carat Burmese Ruby ring, set in platinum, surrounded by another 3 carats of diamonds. That ruby is as big as a dime! Just thing to show off to your friends at the ward party, right?

 A friend of mine found this in her mother's jewelry and took it to the mall to have it re-sized. The jeweler wouldn't touch it and told her go immediately to the bank and put it in a safety deposit box. Apparently. it's worth several (and a few more several) thousands of dollars. Her parents picked it up for a few hundred dollars during their world travels in the 60's. I was able to take pictures of it for insurance purposes, but I know my friend would like to sell it.
