Every year, our barn puts on a Halloween benefit horse show. All of the proceeds we earn go to a charity like Make-A-Wish, the animal shelter, or even the pets from Hurricane Katrina who needed help. This year we chose to benefit the Cobia Family.
Coleen Cobia is a jr. high teacher at Fairfield Jr. High in Kaysville. She and her family are a lot of fun and sometimes trailer their horses in to our barn for extra training for their Pony Club events. A few months ago, Collen fell off a young horse and was stepped on, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down. We thought our Benefit would be a great help to their family.
We had lots of activities going on- a petting zoo, pony rides, a classic car show, a raffle, bake sale and silent auction, and the horse/dog show. It was so much fun and I'll be blogging for the next few days about some of the fun and crazy things we did.
