What Would I Do With An Extra $2900.00?

Whenever I go to Disneyland, I have to have one of these:
I don't know what Disney calls them, but we call them Marshmallow Yummies. Wonderful, wonderful.

We all got to go to a character breakfast where the favorite item on the buffet was the Mickey waffles. (Take a good look, Lindsey!)A Disney rep took us on a tour of the Disney hotels. As a special treat, we got to see one of the new themed suites at the Disneyland hotel. There are 4 right now- the Mickey Suite, Pirates Suite, Big Thunder Mountain suite, and the one we got to see- the Fairy Tale Suite. Amazing. And for $2900.00 a night, it should be! There were 2 walls of windows overlooking the parking in the bedroom. Tinkerbell lit up the crystal castle when you closed the door. The flat screen slid up out of the chest of drawers. There was an interactive touch screen in the bathroom mirror. It was unbelievable. I'd love to see those other suites!

Is That You, Flipper?

If you want to try something fun, go out with Captain Dave and see the dolphins off of Dana Point in Orange County. It was basically amazing. There are pods of dolphins that live a mile off the shore, year-round. Last Wednesday, when we went out with the crew from GetAway, several pods joined up together to make a Megapod- we were in the middle of at least 1000 dolphins, all swimming together in a "herd". Unbelievable. There's a baby with it's mom in the front of this shot:They would ride the crest at the front of the boat:They squealed at each other and jumped out of the water:Everywhere we looked where hundreds of dolphins. It was a great experience, and Bruce didn't even get seasick!
On the way back in we saw lots of birds and sea lions.Put this on your Bucket List!

Chicken Caesar Salad Pizza

Salad on top of pizza? Yep, and it's good! Give this a try-

Chicken Caesar Salad Pizza- 4 servings

For Pizza:
2 chicken breasts
1/2 c. Caesar salad dressing, plus 2 Tbs.
1 12" thin pizza crust (Boboli)
2 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese
1/4 c. shredded Parmesan cheese
2 Tbs. olive oil

For Salad Topping:
4 c. shredded Romaine lettuce
1 Tbs. lemon juice
1/4 c. Caesar salad dressing
1/4 c. shredded Parmesan cheese
1 c. seasoned croutons

Marinate chicken, which has been cut into strips, in 1/2 c. Caesar salad dressing, set aside. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Brush pizza crust with 2 Tbs. dressing and top with cheeses; set aside. Heat 2 Tbs. oil in a large frying pan. When oil is hot, saute chicken strips for 4-6 minutes or until cooked through. Place chicken on top of pizza. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until cheese has melted and begins to bubble. While pizza is cooking, toss romaine with lemon juice, 1/4 c. dressing and 1/4 c. Parmesan. Cut pizza into wedges, top with salad and garnish with croutons. Serve immediately.

Marinate the raw chicken in 1/2 c. dressing. What would we do without Ziplock bags?Spread dressing on top of pizza crust.Top with cheeses!Give a piece of cheese to Xena.Saute the chicken and put it on the pizza.Bake the pizza.Make the Caesar salad to put on top of the pizza when it's done!

Lil' Missionary

A few weeks after Pete left on his mission I found a little red-haired missionary figure at Desert Book. Some might say it looks quite a bit like my now-chubbier youngest child. I bought it, brought it home and put it on the windowsill over my sink to remind me of my boy who is so far away. A few weeks later, Bruce asked if I noticed anything different about the little missionary. "Nope", I said. He told me that Shannon had re-painted it's hair in a more Peter-like hair color. Ok, I can live with that. Then the ninjas appeared. Peter used to play with these. Now my little missionary does battle with the ninjas, courtesy of my kids. Sometimes he stands on them. In this picture he is giving the blue one a nasty karate chop to the midsection. Who thought that my windowsill would be a stage for an epoc battle between Good and Evil?

Cool, Clear Water (water, water, water...)

I love my water bottle, and maybe you have one of your own that you love too. I take it with me to work and keep it in my car. It's all part of my "drink more water, Barbara" plan. When it's hot I freeze water in my bottle to have cold water all day. A while back I shook my bottle and looked at it closely. It looked like a snow globe! Floaties everywhere! Horrific. So, I followed the example of my sister and my DIL and bought a filter pitcher. Why haven't I done this before? Now my water is wonderfully clean!
