Every December

Every December I spend a boatload of time making a slideshow of horse show pictures that I've taken through the year. I show it on a laptop at the annual Saltaire Christmas party and it's lots of fun watching people's faces as they watch the show. Every year it gets a little longer- it's already up to about 40 minutes long and I still have 2 shows to add.

The Best and The Worst

My all-time favorite Christmas movie:
Great music, great plot, makes me cry, makes me laugh.

My least favorite:
Depressing. Worst Christmas songs of all time. Please, don't make me watch this!

How about you?

No More Candy Bars For Xena

Poor Xena. She has diabetes. I suspected that she did, since she's been drinking way too much water, but when she started having accidents inside the house it was time to act. So, into the Pet Porter and off to the vet she went.
Oh, how she hates that Pet Porter.

Xena is such a funny cat. She is SO wimpy about everything...except the vet. She tries to kill the poor man. It takes several people to hold her down for any kind of test, then she spends the rest of the time hiding her face in my arm or trying to climb up the front of me to hide her face in my neck.

So, now she's officially diabetic and today we go back to the vet (!) to start an insulin program. Looks like I'll be a professional cat-shot-giver from now on.

I hope she doesn't kill me.

Lick, Then Lick Some More

You know those Christmas cards you get from your bishopric? Guess who gets to stuff and lick those many, many envelopes?
Yep, the Bishop's family! Pass the mouthwash, please.

The Great Winds

The Great Winds visited us yesterday. We were told The Great Winds were coming. The Great Winds started in the night and blew through the day. Our power went out 3 times. We had a bit of damage:
But our damage was not as bad as other people's damage.
I'm just glad a blizzard did not accompany The Great Winds. We would have been trapped in our homes, living off of our food storage and playing Stratego.

Ah Dun Made It Mah-self

I like to make things. If I had more time, I'd make more things. Not that I envision wonderfully original things in my head, no. I copy. I'm a great copier. Lately I copied this:
Easy to make with supplies from Hobby Lobby, my new favorite store. My glue gun and I finished it in about 20 minutes. It cost about $21.00 to make. I think the frame is 16x20, maybe. It's going to go on my porch. Not hanging, but propped by my door.

What I really want for my porch is one of those old plastic light-up Santas. I saw some in an antique store but they wouldn't sell them to me because they were "for display". Then why have them for people to see?

I copied this idea off of my latest addiction, Pintrest.com. Thank you to my DIL, Lindsey, for getting me hooked on that site. It's a good thing I don't Facebook, because between the 2 sites, I'd veg all day.

Happy 1st day of December.
