Metal Pumpkins?

Another Pinterest idea: spray painted pumpkins.
I tried to find glitter spray, but there was none to be found, so I went with metallic. It made kind of a neat look. At least Gus thought so.
I painted the stems gold- an easy way to get a different pumpkin look.

A Bubble Wreath

Ok, we've all seen these wreaths on Pinterest, right? They are easy to make, but a little pricey. Here's how I did it:

I bought about 72 ornaments of different sizes. (Thank you, Hobby Lobby for your 1/2 off sale!)
I lifted off the tops and hot glued them on so they would never, ever, ever come off.
Then I threaded them onto a wire hanger.
 Gus helped.
Here they are, all threaded on. Bruce helped me connect the two wire ends, and this is where that hot glue came in handy, because they would have all fallen off when the wire is pulled tight. That would have been a major bummer.
In the end, all of those ornaments made a 14 inch wreath. I thought it would be bigger. And it looks a little lopsided to my OCD self, but I'm probably the only one who will ever notice, right? But I love the colors and think it makes my porch look fun.

My Halloween Porch

Here's what my Halloween porch looks like this year:
We grew the giant pumpkins and the gourds in the backyard, and I made the wreath. We are ready for the trick-or-treaters!

Horse Show Halloween

The last horse show of the year is held in October, so I try to make the barn display look fun for everyone. This year I was a bit more creative than usual.
We have a small bit of woods at the barn- the horses think they are haunted- so it seemed appropriate to find some branches, drag them home and spray paint them. Then I added some nasty fake cobwebs, Styrofoam spiders and plastic pumpkins filled with flowers. I thought it looked pretty fun.

G Family Shoot

Autumn is an awesome time of year to shoot photos, don't you agree? I took pictures of this cute family last week.
These two boys were fun to work with- older brother had the smiling thing down. Younger brother needed a bit more coaxing because I'm sure he thought I was insane.
We started at a little ol' cabin in the woods,
then stopped at a picaresque hillside,
then moved onto the railroad tracks. This made me nervous, but no trains came by while we were there.
After that we went for the really colorful trees in the foothills. By that time the sun was down and we were eking out the last of the light. The sunset looked like this:
And the pictures looked like this:
Fun stuff!

And Another Horse Show

I spent a few days last week at a horse show, and it always takes a bit of time to weed through all those pictures, make them look as good as possible and get them onto the website. This show was close to home- only 15 minutes away- which makes a huge difference for the folks at our barn.
This show is held indoors, which is always tricky. But, since I can't go to the shows with the pretty outdoor backgrounds anymore, (rant for another day), I'm working at improving my indoor picture skills.
Slowly learning more, all the time.

L's Bridals

Yes, it has been a while since I've blogged. What can I say, I have a lot on my plate right now. But some of the things on that plate have been a lot more fun to do than others, starting with these bridal pictures.

Sure, this bride was actually married 2 1/2 years ago, but whose counting? Why not have as many pretty pictures of yourself as you can get? I may be biased, but it's hard for a redhead not to look good in the Fall. These pictures were taken in Logan about 2 weeks ago. Having never done bridals before, it was just fun to walk around in public with a pretty girl wearing a wedding dress!
L was such a good sport- up for anything including climbing up hillsides, stepping down into swampy weeds, leaning against dirty trees and pretty much doing anything I asked her to do. I think everyone should have a bridal picture re-do!
